Special  Collection  next  Weekend

Letter from Bishop Duffy on behalf of the Bishops of Ireland:

“I write to than parishioners for their generous                          response to the recent church collections for the World Meeting of Families and the visit of Pope Francis. For the tens of thousands who attended, the World Meeting was a wonderful Faith experience.

Pope Francis himself sowed us the Gospel in action: he met with those on the margins of society; with survivors of abuse; with representatives of the State; with newlyweds; in Croke Park, Knock and Phoenix Park he prayed with and for families. Now, in parish life, we are to be guided by these same priorities.

The overall cost to the Church in Ireland was €19.4m. To date, €15.4m has been raised. This leave  us with a deficit of €4m. To meet this cost, a final national collection will take place in all churches, North and South, next weekend, 10/11th November. All support offered will be greatly appreciated.”
