 Pastoral  Letter – A Summary

 

A 3-year work :  Diocesan-wide Listening Process. Now at an important point. Parish Meetings in March  to work on  final drafting of a pastoral plan.

 

A challenge  :  to focus on working with young people and with families. And to celebrate our

Faith with life-giving Sunday liturgies.

 

My thanks  to all who’ve been part of the Listening Process. I invite all parishioners  to take a hand in finalising Cashel & Emly Pastoral Plan for 2020-25,      .  for launch on Pentecost Sunday,  31st May 2020.

                  Parish  ‘Listening’ Meeting

Our meeting, to help put together the Diocesan Plan is postponed to TUESDAY 24th March, 7.30pm.                     .            Please make every effort to attend.

 

First  Confession

Children in 2nd Class at St. Ailbe’s N.S. will make First Confession on this Thursday, 5th March, 7.30p

Please make a space for them in your prayers.

 

Readers’ Re-Commissioning

A special ceremony, re-commissioning the parish’s  Readers will take place at Masses next weekend. Each may choose to attend on Saturday or Sunday.

 

‘Hearing,  Hoping,  Happening’

A special Lent-time event, Thursday nights, 8.00pm – 9.00.  .To consider and chat about the Readings for the following Sunday; 4 weeks, Duhig Hse..

HSE  Guidelines

-Avoid using Holy Water fonts at church doors.

-Omit the Handshake at the Sign of Peace.

-Receive Holy Communion on the Hand, only.

-Omit receiving Communion from the Chalice.

 

Trócaire  Boxes

Please take home a Trócaire Box and set it up at home;  read the leaflet in the envelope; and return your contribution to church during Holy Week.

Comhaltas Emly Cake Sale & Raffle on Sunday 22ndMarch in St. Ailbe’s N.S. after Mass. Donations  and/or baking would be greatly appreciated.

 

Rambling  House

Rambling house in St. Ailbe’s Parish Hall on this Saturday 29th February at 8.30 to 11.30pm.  Teas served, come along and enjoy music song and stories.   Everyone welcome to join in.

AGM at The Forge Tea Rooms, on Mon 9th March, 7.00pm. Tea/Coffee will be served. Pleae attend and help our community develop and prosper.

An Internet Safety talk on Thurs,12th March, at 6.45pm, followed by Breast Awareness talk. Cover charge of €5 each . Open to all. Details to follow. .

 

St Ailbes NS annual bumper Draw will start on Mother’s Day – Sunday 22nd March, in the school. €5-a- line each week; over 10 weeks. Bumper prizes
