St. Ailbe’s National School

As part of our very successful Partnership Schools Ireland initiative the pupils, staff and school community invite you to our Christmas  ‘Choir of Voices’ Mass, celebrated in St Ailbe’s Church on Tuesday 18th Dec at 7.00pm.  We encourage the whole community, young, old and everyone in between, to sing and celebrate Christmas together during this special Christmas Community Mass. And you are invited to the Parish Hall afterwards for ‘tae agus cáca milis’.

Emly  Historical  Society

Dr. Martin Mansergh will launch a DVD entitled “Memories of Emly” on Wednesday 19th Dec at 8.00pm in St. Ailbe’s Parish Hall.  The video was produced locally and was edited by Nicholas Ryan Purcell.  Elder members of the parish talk about all aspects of life in the olden – very different from life today.  DVDs  – just €10 – on sale at the launch.  Ideal Christmas gift for those with Emly connection

Beginners and Accomplished music classes resume on Wednesday 30th Jan 2019.  Registration on Wed 16th January. Classes in: Violin, Harp, Accordian, Concertina, Mandolin, Banjo, Flute and Tin Whistle. New members most welcome. For more information please contact emly@comhaltas.net.

 

Emly Parish  New Year Party.

In conjunction with Emly Tidy Towns, the parish party takes place the Parish Hall on Sunday 6th Jan .  Mass in the hall at 1.00pm followed by a four course meal and entertainment.  Tickets €25 available at the Post Office, Callanan’s Shop or from Patsy Henness  Tickets limited to 100. Please buy your ticket during  the coming week  – by Sunday 16th  .
