BAPTISM  OF  THE  LORD

This Sunday’s feast sees Jesus receiving his mission from his Father. The Saviour who came now brings the Good News and tells of salvation. We recall our baptism and the mission and call which we too have received.

THANKS

As we move on from the Christmas season thanks to all who prepared, cleaned and decorated the church, erected the crib and the Christmas tree; all who prepared for and took part in the Christmas liturgy and created a suitable atmosphere for the celebration of the birth of Christ.

Thanks also to all who contributed to our Envelope Collection throughout the year. This Envelope Collection in Emly parish allows parishioners to contribute to the parish at a time and in a way that is suitable for them. Envelopes are always available in the church.

 

CHURCH CLEANING

The next cleaning of the church will be on Tues 10th Jan at 10.15am.

A Blood Donor Clinic will be held at Ballykisteen Hotel on Mon/Tue next 9th /10th January 6pm to 9pm each day.

 

TUESDAY  CLUB

The Tuesday Club committee would like to thank Emly GAA club for its generous contribution of €400 presented at our annual Christmas party. Thanks also to Byrne’s Tavern who gave €100, proceeds from their annual darts tournament.

 

EMLY  CIRCLE  OF  FRIENDS

The January meeting will be held in the Golden Thatch on Tues 10th at 7.30pm. The group has arranged a bus to go to the Brendan Grace Show in Charleville on Sun 29th Jan. Tickets €30. Bus free. Anyone wishing to travel should contact Norah Hayes (57127) or Sheila Breen (57104.)

 

RMLY  GAA

AGM: The 127th Annual General Meeting of Emly GAA Club will take place on Saturday January 21st at 8:30pm in the Golden Thatch. All are Welcome.

 

Lotto: The next Lotto draw will take place on Tuesday January 10th at the Hill Bar, Knocklong. The Jackpot stands at €2,600. Tickets available at all local businesses.
