THE YEAR OF FAITH
Pope Benedict has often voiced his concern about a profound crisis of faith, especially here in Western Europe, now the least religious area in the world. He is inviting us to a Year of Faith as a time to rediscover the content of faith and to renew our commitment to Jesus Christ. This year begins on 11 October, the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council and twentieth anniversary of the publication of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. May it be a blessed time of renewal in our lives.

GOSPEL REFLECTION
Today’s gospel wants us to value and benefit from that special union in love between a man and a woman that is marriage, a union fundamental enough to be made into a sacrament in Christ. Marriage is at the same time a basic human institution and an extraordinary relationship, and it contributes to the well-being of the whole of society.
