Pilgrimage to Emly
There are just 5 weeks to go until the diocesan Pilgrimage to Emly on Sunday 11th September.
Under the title St. Ailbe’s Walk of Mercy the event will combine celebrations of the Holy Year of Mercy and the feast of St. Ailbe which falls on the 12th Sept annually. (There will be a 1K walk from Carroll’s Cross or Callanan’s Cross to the church grounds, which are beside the site of St. Ailbe’s Well & St. Ailbe’s Cross.)
The parishes of the old diocese of Emly will take part, such as Knocklong & Glenbrohane, Kilteely & Dromkeen, Hospital & Herbertstown,
Lattin & Cullen, Pallasgreen & Templebraden,
Knockainey, Solohead & Oola, and others including, of course, Emly. A planning meeting of parish representatives will take place in Emly parish Hall on Tuesday 16th , at 8.00pm.
Please promote the Walk of Mercy taking one of the Year of Mercy stickers available at the
church doors and displaying it on the front or back window of your car or on the inside of the front door of your home.
Words of Mercy at home
“Excuse me” expresses an
attitude of respect that sees
how precious other family
members are.
“Please” saves us from taking
for granted what a family has
and shares. This word unites us.

Good Financial News
Due to the generous support of parishioners for the Church Repair Fund – offertory collections, donations, loans – our debt for Phase 1 work is cleared and Phase 2 work begins this week to protect windows, gutters & stonework before winter weather arrives. Thank you very much.
Due to Repair Fund, please feel free to ignore the Education of Priests envelope next weekend.
