St. Ailbe’s Walk of Mercy

Next Sunday, 11th Sept. Assembly points: Callanans Cross & Carrolls Cross. The 1.Km. Walk begins at 3.00pm, to the church grounds. Church car park: ceremony honouring St.Ailbe. Parish Church : Festival of Mercy.

 

Meeting of parish representatives in the parish hall on Monday 5th Sept., 8.00pm. All help welcome.

 

Choir practice Wed 7th, in parish church, 8.00pm.

 

Garda notice: all traffic will be diverted away from the village from 1.30 – 6.00pm. Car parks at Carroll Cross & Callanans Cross for locals & for visitors.

 

Roadway from Callanans Cross, roadway from Carrolls Cross, the Main Street & church car park are to be kept free of all vehicles at these

hours.  Residents are requested to comply.

 

We look forward to welcoming pilgrims from the neighbouring parishes to the cradle of Christian Faith in West Tipperary and East Limerick.

 

Door  of  Mercy

Whenever a Pope declares a Holy Year he opens a special Holy Door into St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. Pilgrims enter through it.

 

Next weekend, a Holy Door of Mercy will be erected at the gateway between the church car  park and the church yard.  Walk of Mercy pilgrims will pass through it to express their desire to “experience the love of God who

consoles, pardons, and instils hope.” Pope Francis

 

Emly Comhaltas

Emly Comhaltas registration night, Friday 9th Sept.                            7 – 9pm in St. Ailbe’s School. Committee members  available on the night to discuss proposed classes. Reg. fees: Family: €20, Adult: €12, Child up to 18yr : €6.  Classes begin Wed 21st Sept. in the school, for 10 weeks. Cost : €60 per term for adults;  €60 for one child; €50 for two children in the same family.

Big effort by Junior A Footballers & management; hard luck on West Semi Final defeat. West Junior A Hurling Final:  Emly v Clonoulty-Rossmore this Wednesday,Sept 7th., 7.30 in Clonoulty.  Official Opening Date of Hurling Wall: Saturday Sept 25th .

The 3G Challenge ‘Get Fit’ Get Active’ Give Back’. A 10-week Team Weight Loss Challenge – a fund- raiser for our elderly for Christmas. Jjoin a group in parish hall on Tuesday night, 6th Sept: 7.30 – 8.30pm

St. Ailbe’s Ladies Football Club

Thanks to everyone who generously contributed towards the church gate collection last week. Well done to the Emly/Lattin U8 & U10 teams who took part in a Munster Blitz last weekend in Martinstown. The junior team have qualified for a county semi final due to be played in the coming week.
