GOSPEL REFLECTION
The disciples invite Jesus to join them at table – there follows a recognition of who he is. After the event it makes sense to them; ‘Did not our hearts burn within us as he talked to us on the road and explained the scriptures to us?’ they wonder, and they rush back to Jerusalem to share their story. The experience with Jesus, which culminated in the breaking of the bread, stirred something in them and piece by piece, like a jigsaw, it all fell into place.
NEW WEEKLY ENVELOPE COLLECTION
It is planned to introduce Weekly Offering Envelopes in our parish beginning on Sun June 1st. This is not an extra collection. It is still the regular Sunday Basket Collection.
You are now asked to put your weekly contribution in this envelope and then in the basket as usual. The new envelopes will be delivered shortly to each home. Each envelope will have a number. (No names will appear on the envelopes). This new system is being introduced in our diocese.
The Planned Giving Collection will continue in its present format. These envelopes will continue to be available at the back of the church.
We greatly appreciate the financial support you give each Sunday for the upkeep and running of your parish. We hope that you will continue your support through the new Weekly Sunday Offering Envelope.
