             A good start to Lent

Stations of the Cross : Friday, after 9.30am Mass.

The walls of every Catholic church carry a set of the Stations of the Cross. They are not an ornament. They are meant as an aid to prayer, especially during Lent, in the weeks leading up to Good Friday.

Three  Girls.  Three Stories.

Maria (9 years old), Patricia (7) and Maya (10)

live thousands of miles apart. They are united by one thing: they are suffering in ways that no child should. So too are their families. Maria’s family was evicted from their little holding by big business interests. Patricia’s father is dead and the family’s parcel of land is stolen from them acre by acre. Maya is a refugee from war.

This year,Trócaire –the Irish Catholic Church’s

relief agency – begs us to come to the rescue of these girls, their families and other families in Guatemala, in Uganda, and in Lebanon.

Please take home a Trócaire envelope, read the

material in it,and donate to the Box during Lent
