A Mighty Achievement
To win County honours once in any field of endeavour is a major achievement. To win the County award 20 times in as many years is almost beyond belief. Yet this is now the record of Emly Tidy Towns Committee and the Village
Congratulations to all concerned in lifting the County Tipperary (South) award for 2018, with 334 marks- an increase of 5 marks on 2017- and on again gaining a national Gold Medal award.
Emly ranked joint 7th with Coolagown and Clonegal in the Tidy Villages and joint 14th overall from a record 883 entries in this the 60th year of the Tidy Towns competition.
Emly Tidy Towns Committee deserve high praise indeed for their continued hard work in this their 30th year and also for maintaining a high standard since being crowned National winners in 2009.
Emly Tidy Towns Fundraising Raffle Draw and Prize Giving Night will take place on Saturday October 6th in Byrnes Tavern, at 9pm. Music and songs to follow, by Paschal.
Parish Listening Event
On the 10th May last, over 40 parishioners attended the Parish Listening Event and submitted written replies to a questionnaire. Similar events were held in half the parishes of the diocese at that time. The remaining parishes will hold their “Listening” nights in the coming weeks. Views and recommendations from all the parishes will be analysed and reported
This analysis work will take some time to complete.
