Sunday : Walk with Angels and Saints
The Sun illuminates the Earth and dominates our moods and lives so much that the first day of the week has long been named after it – in the English language.
Ireland’s tradition has been to dedicate the day to Jesus Christ, God the Son. We call it Dé Domhnaigh, the Lord’s Day.
We give time to God in worship at Mass, we give time to family and friends, to fun and games, to visiting the sick and lonely.
Lord, you designed Dé Domhnaigh to celebrate our status as children of God and to save us from everything that would make slaves of us.
On this special day may we walk with angels and saints, and lift our sights towards you. Amen.
