Prayer  for  the  Dead

Envelopes and Lists for the names of our loved ones who have died are available at the church doors. Please place your envelope box near the Baptismal Font, or hand it in at the sacristy.

 

If you have younger family members at home it would be good to involve them I n drawing up the family’s List of names.

 

Friday evening Mass for the Holy Souls, 7.30pm, especially for the deceased of the townslands:

Candlelight Memorial Service on Sunday 25th Nov.

 

Cross and Memorial Lights

During November a special Cross for Memorial Lights will be in place at the front of the church. On each light there is a place for you to write the name of a loved one and then place it in a slot on the Cross. Also, there’s a lovely prayer on the light.

You are invited to gather around this Cross at the end of Evening Mass on Friday (All Souls Day) and to spend some time in quiet prayer with gentle musi

 

Collectors  Meeting

All Church Collectors are requested to attend a short but important meeting in the Parish Church on Wednesday 7th November, at 8.00pm.  To introduce new guidelines for collecting.

 

Thanks for €430 donated to Missions last weekend.

Talent  on  Show

Emly  G.A.A. Club presents “Emly’s Got Talent” on Saturday 10th November in Byrnes Tavern at 8.30p

An entertaining evening of music and craic in store.  Tickets now available from committee members and in local shops.

 

Emly Tidy Towns

Emly Tidy Towns Committee has to produce a       3-year development plan and submit it to the national adjudicators. Any suggestions or ideas for the improvement of our village can be put in boxes at Callanans shop or Post Office before Friday the 9th of November.  {Take a fresh look at things}.

Do you (or somebody  you know) have a photo of either Canon Meaney or Fr. Mullaly? If so, Emly Historical Society would be delighted if you would be willing to loan the photo for inclusion in a video being made about life in Emly in mid-20th century.

Last  Bishop  of  Emly

This coming Tuesday, 30th Oct., is the Memorial day of Blessed Terence Albert O’Brien, Catholic martyr and last Bishop of Emly – hanged in Limerick City by Cromwell’s army on 30th Oct 1651.
