First  Holy  Communion

We pray for and congratulate the 14 young children who will receive Holy Communion for the First time this Sunday. In the midst of God’s People each is now entitled to call God “Father”

 

With the help of their parents, of school staff – especially Mrs. Anita Hurley – and of the `Do This in Memory` parents planning group, these little ones of the parish community have been well prepared and have prepared well.

 

Again, we ask you people attending this Mass to keep the church yard free of cars, and NOT to take photos or videos during the Mass.

 

Confirmation

Congratulations to the 22 girls and boys who received Confirmation on last Wednesday, and to their each and every person associated with t hiere prepration and with their growing in Faith ever since their Baptism.

Annual fundraiser on June 24th  in Byrne’s Tavern. Music by John Hammond.  Great night assured with our sketch written by our local lady Sarah Croker Yure. Please support. Ticket €10. Sellers will call round to houses in the coming weeks.

World   Communications  Day  2017

For many years past, the Church  has dedicated this Sunday (before Pentecost) to considering issues relating to `mass` communications. This year, Pope Francis urges us to reject prejudice towards others in the way be communicate and to stems the spiral of fear  resulting from a constant focus on “bad news”.

Mass for Leaving Cert students on this Thurs `1st June, in Duhig House, at 8.00pm.
