GOSPEL  REFLECTION – In today’s Gospel, Jesus does not conform to his followers’ expectations. His teachings are too difficult for some. They are annoyed and offended. ‘This is intolerable language,’ they grumble, ‘How could anyone accept it?’ Though they were happy to accept his healings and miraculous feeding, they find his claims about eternal life confusing and upsetting. Jesus demands a lot of his followers, who must each decide whether or not they want to follow him. It’s a free choice

On this Sun (26th )after 11am Mass there will be a Farmer’s Market in Halla Naomh Ailbhe; also an exhibition of art. (cf. below)

 

ART  EXHIBITION – An art exhibition will be held in the Hall on this Sun (26th Aug.)  Children’s art on the day. Crayons etc will be supplied. Prizes to be won.

 

BLOOD  DONOR  CLINIC – Mobile unit will attend at Ballykisteen Hotel on Mon & Tue (27th/28th) 6-9pm.

EMLY  TENNIS  CLUB Sunday Tournament taking place this Sun, 26th Aug, 2012 at 1.00 p.m. (over 18’s).  There will be a Mixed Doubles Section and a Ladies Four Section.  Cold Plate and desserts served.  Entry Fee €12.00.  Kindly sponsored by McGrath Oil.  So come along, whether as a participant or spectator, for what promises to be a great day out. Teenage Tennis Tournament (over 12’s) will take place every Fri eve commencing at 7.00 p.m.

CLOTHING  APPEAL– Dochas Nasamu Orphanage – in Kenya,  an Irish run and Irish built Aids orphanage, are holding a used clothing appeal of ladies, gents and childrens  –  clothes, shoes, household linens  i.e. towels, sheets,  blankets, soft toys, handbags  etc.( – even in need of  – recycling – so long as the items are clean).This appeal will take place on Tue  28th Aug,  until 10.30am, Outside Emly Hall.

 

CHARISMATIC PRAYER  GROUP- ‘Life in the Spirit Seminars’ will be held in Cappawhite Community Centre commencing on Mon 24th Sept 7.30pm and continuing for 7 consecutive Mondays.  Contact Maura 75244 or Mary 57483.
