St. Ailbe’s Walk of Mercy

“Come! Walk in the footsteps of St. Ailbe

in this Holy Year of Mercy.”

This invitation is extended to all parishioners, whether your or old, people of Faith or not.

It’s extended to all natives of Emly living elsewhere & to all neighbouring parishes in the old diocese of Emly: West Tipp/ East Limerick.

St. Ailbe brought the Faith to this region and founded his monastery at Imleach Iubhair in the late 5th or early 6th century. Its reputation in  Ireland grew to match that of Clonmacnoise! Our parish church & cemetery {Cross & Well} now occupy the grounds of his monastery.

On Sunday 11th Sept., Archbishop O’Reilly will lead the diocesan Walk of Mercy.

Programme for the day:

2.30pm : Assemble at Callanan’s Cross or at Carrolls Cross. (Parking in nearby fields).

3.00pm : 1.Km walk (song & prayer) to St. Ailbe’s Ground {Fód Ailbhe} – church car park.
