GOSPEL REFLECTION
The reading evokes contrasting images of God, a God who judges and a God who saves.
God sent his Son into the world for this purpose, that we might have eternal life.
The eternal life promised is life that survives all forms of death, failure, defeat and humiliation.
ANNUAL CEMETERY MASS
The annual cemetery Mass for our dead will take place on Wed 6th July at 8pm.
EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS 2012
In preparation for the Eucharistic Congress 2012 each diocese is asked to organise a local diocesan event in the Cathedral Church on Sunday 26th June 2011 – Feast of Corpus Christi. A liturgical celebration is planned for Thurles Cathedral on that day. Every parish in the diocese is invited to be represented at this celebration which will also be the official launch of the Cashel & Emly journey to the International Eucharistic Congress being held in Ireland in June 2012.
CHANGES IN THE MISSAL AT MASS
When and why are we getting a new edition of the Roman Missal?
The new edition of the Missal will come into full use over a period of time between Sept and 27 Nov 2011, the First Sunday of Advent. The new edition is necessary for a number of reasons. Firstly, in the years since 1975 when our current Missal was published, a number of additional texts have been made available for use in the Mass. These include additional Eucharistic Prayers, some new Masses of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Masses for over twenty new Feasts of Saints The new material is to be included in the Missal so that it can be used in our celebrations.
EMLY TIDY TOWN
Emly is looking lovely at the moment with houses painted and floral displays. Keep up the good work. We appeal to owners to keep their dogs under control. Much damage is being done to flower beds.
