  Hand – in – Hand

The story of divisions among Christians is a long and complicated one. We know from the Letters of St. Paul that fallings-out happened among the very first Believers. These divisions were what led him to write his powerful pieces about the importance of love and forgiveness and unity.

During this coming week the members of all Christian Churches in the world pray that they we will come closer together through living as Christ taught us and by making his ways real in the world and in the communities around us.

Please keep this intention in your prayers this week.

Rainbows

God of earth and sky,

in the Milky Way, Earth is the blue planet.                               Ever since the days of  Noah people have seen in the  rainbow a pledge of your love and protection.

Our world holds other brands of rainbow also.

There is a rainbow of continents:  languages,                               ways of dressing, ways of working and pastimes.

There is a rainbow of human colouring:                               brown, yellow, black, and pink (the Irish!).

There is a rainbow of creeds: searching for things true and lasting, and for a pathway to you.

God of the continents, the colours and the creeds, help us to live in harmony in this one world. Amen.
