A Blood Donor Clinic will be held in the Community Centre, Lisvernane on Mon 27th January from 6pm to 9pm.

GOSPEL REFLECTION 

In today’s Gospel, John the Baptist is inviting us to look at Jesus, look closely. He calls Jesus the ‘lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world’. We say these words often at Mass and today we are invited to meditate on them more closely. What does it mean? The lamb is one who is sacrificed… the sins of the world are many, broken relationships with one another at every turn. Through the lamb we heal our broken relationships

PAINTING  CLASSES

Painting classes will begin again in Emly on Thurs 23rd Jan at 8pm. Beginners are always welcome. If  interested contact Betty at 062/57128.

 

CLOTHES  COLLECTION – Emly N.S.

A new & used clothes collection will be taken up at Emly N.S. on Mon 27th Jan. Items may be left at the school each school morning next week. The following items accepted:- New & used clothing, shoes, belts, handbags, ties, linens, household textiles, stuffed toys etc.(any condition once clean.) Mobile phones(placed in a separate bag.

 

 

 

TENNIS CLUB

The tennis courts are closed at present due to damage caused by recent bad weather.  The AGM of  the Tennis Club will take place on Sat, 1st March  at 8.00 p.m., in The Forge Bar, Emly.  A social night will follow and all are welcome.

 

BEREAVEMENT  EVENING

Anam Cara is holding its monthly parent evening on Mon 27th of Jan from 19:30 to 21:00 at The Horse & Jockey Hotel, Thurles, Co. Tipperary. This event is free, open to all bereaved parents and each Anam Cara support group has a bereavement professional present.

 

THIRD  LEVEL  EDUCATION

An open meeting will be held in St. Patrick’s College, Thurles on Tues 28th Jan at 7pm in Assoc with Univ of Limerick, Mary Immac College and Limerick Institute of Technology.  Subjects offered in St. Patrick’s College are Accountancy, Business, Irish and Relig Studies. These Teacher Progs are accredited by the Univ of Limerick.

 

SPORT’S  CONFERENCE

St Patrick’s College, Thurles will host a Conference entitled “Exploring the link between Sport and Spirituality” on the 24th and
