GOSPEL  REFLECTION

Though scripture says he was “like us in all things except sin”, we tend to see Jesus unlike us: a miracle worker, an assured teacher, a master of circumstances, someone above it all.

The desert temptations must have been temptations Jesus faced everyday. If they are, how like us he is: tempted to give up under our daily burdens, tempted to compromise and follow the crowd, tempted to seek some extraordinary power rather than the quiet power found in ordinary life.

EMLY GAA

The Intermediate Footballers will start their season this Sunday in the County Adult Football League Div. 1. Fixture: Emly v Father Sheedys Sunday in Emly at 2.30. The Under 21 Footballers with Sean Treacys begin their West Championship this Sunday in Sean Treacy Park at 12.00. Please Check  Facebook or Emly GAA Website for any changes to these fixtures and West Draws for 2013.

 

EMLY PARENTS ASSOCIATION.

We would like to congratulate all the children from Emly National School who participated in the Scór Na Bpáistí  in Marian Hall ,Tipperary Town last Sunday. Participants were  Anthony Hammond, Cathy Heffernan, Olivia Sheehy Gillian Kemp, Darragh Collins, Darragh McAuley, John O Brien, Anna O Dwyer and Orla O’Sullivan. The children were runners up in two categories . Also a note of appreciation to all who were involved in preparing the children for this event.

 

EMLY  TENNIS  CLUB

The draw for the club tennis tournament has now been carried out and schedule of games has been drawn up.  These games will commence this coming week.   Copy of schedule can be obtained from Norita Kemp or Carol O’Brien.

The Tennis Club would like to extend its deepest sympathies to the families of the late Pat Bourke and Fr. Sean Kennedy.  May they both rest in peace.
