GOSPEL  REFLECTION

The story in our Gospel sees a mixture of religion and politics, a potentially explosive combination. Jesus does not ask us to avoid politics, but that our involvement in the affairs of the world be informed by the perspective of the Reign of God.
Pharisees and Herodians were not natural allies but a shared dislike of Jesus brought them together in an attempt to discredit him. Jesus did not get into an argument with them but simply professed his belief in the priority of God in his life.

EUCHARISTIC  CONGRESS  BELL

The Eucharistic Congress Bell is a symbol of the Eucharistic Congress being held in Dublin in June 2012. During the year leading up to the Congress the bell is being brought to each diocese in Ireland. It will be in the diocese of Cashel and Emly from Thurs 27th October and Sun 6th Nov. The bell will arrive in Emly on Saturday eve 29th October. The ringing of the bell is an invitation to us to answer the call of God in our lives.

THOUGHT

Real love and charity is rooted in the virtue of humility which sees the greatness, beauty and potential of ourselvesas God’s creation and the equal greatness, beauty and potential of others who are also the creation of God.
