LISTENING  ;  THANK YOU

 

As part of the on-going Listening Process in the parish and diocese, we had a very productive

Session on last Thursday evening, in St. Ailbe’s Hall. Discussion was open, lively and ‘coming from the heart’. Thank you to all who attended.

 

The next step will be a further Deanery Gathering on Wednesday, 15th May, in Galbally Parish Hall, 8.00pm. There, we will present to the neighbouring parishes the fruits of our discussions and, in turn, hear their findings.

A ‘new year’ is beginning.  We ask people to start cleaning and painting again. Help the Village put on

a fresh  Easter Bonnet!  All  hands  appreciated.

Ladies Club  and  Historical Society

A combined meeting of the Historical Society and Emly Ladies Club will take place in Byrnes Tavern on this Tuesday, April 16th at 7.30pm. The speaker is Mary Frawley Merrick with her “my round the world yacht race experience” presentation and Q+A session.  Non-members most welcome.

 

Emly  Hospice  Group

Emly Hospice Group will hold their Local Fundraiser on Saturday 22nd June. The Committee members will be going door-to-door selling tickets.

Emly Historical Society

For your diary Sunday 5th May, a   commemoration of Emly Battalion of East Limerick Brigade in the War of Independence.  Lecture in St. Ailbe’s Hall  by Dr. Borgonovo UCC historian & Ceremony at Emly Monument, followed by light refreshments.

 

                      Lourdes  Youth  Fund  

Table Quiz on Saturday 27th April in Byrne’s Tavern, 9.00pm – to raise funds to help send two Youth Helpers from the parish to Lourdes. Support will be greatly appreciated.
