Any parishioners who received Invitation to Vetting forms at the recent Information Night re child safeguarding and who have not yet returned the completed forms are kindly requested to do so next weekend, please. We need to send off the full batch.
Closing of the Year of Mercy.
Archbishop O’Reilly invites parishioners from all parishes in the archdiocese to attend a special Mass of Thanksgiving at the Cathedral of the Assumption, Thurles, on next Sunday 20th of Nov. This Mass at 2.30pm, will mark the conclusion of the Holy Year. .
Emly parishioners – are asked to enter Thurles via the Holycross Road, park beyond the railway station, and to walk the final kilometre or so to the cathedral. The names of parishioners who died or who were baptised during the Holy Year will be honoured during this Mass.
Emly Historical Society
A survey of Emly’s old cemetery, undertaken by Emly Historical Society member Paddy Creamer and his son Paul, is now available online on the website historicgraves.com. All 672 memorials were photographed using a GPS camera and all inscriptions were recorded. A sketch map showing the location of the memorials is also provided.
GAA 3G Weigh Challenge
We are now at the half-way point in the challenge. Excellent effort by everybody; total weight loss to date 210lbs(15 stone). We are now on the home run so everybody is asked to make a big effort to get that super body for Christmas. It’s great to see such huge interest from the locals: keep up the good work. And enjoy it!!
Cake Sale & Raffle for Homeless.
There will be the raffle of a Painting by Denis Heffernan and a cake sale on Sunday 27th November in Byrne’s Tavern. Raffle tickets for painting available at Callanan’s shop. All help and support would be greatly appreciated in aid of the Homeless.

Thanks to everyone who baked, helped or supported last week’s Cake Sale & Coffee Morning for the Circle of Friends. It raised €1,300.
