Ag  Críost  an  Síol                                                                         Christ,  the Seed of Paradise

Ag Críost on síol, ag Críost an fomhar,

With Christ is the seed, and the harvest of souls,

i n-iothlainn Dé to dtugtar sinn.

into God’s barn may he gather us all.

Ag Críost an mhuir, ag Críost an t-iasc,

With Christ is the waters, and the fish of the sea,

i líonta Dé to gcastar sinn.

taken in God’s net may we be.

Ó fhás to haois, is ó aois to bás,

From youth to age, and to death, until

do dhá láimh, a Chríost, anall tharainn.

your two hands, O Christ, be about us still.

Ó bhás to críoch, ní críoch ach athfhás,

From death to the end, when life will begin,

in bParrthas na nGrást go rabhaimid.

in God’s Paradise may we re-join.

War  Time  Loss  of  Life.

The 11th November 1918 marked the end of the human slaughter that was World War 1. Even worse loss of human life occurred a generation later in World War 2.  Today, War continues in the Middle East, and in parts of Africa and in parts of Asia.                        Ours is still a violent world.

In  Search  of  Peace

This w&eekend we pray for all lost their lives in war and violence. We remember all who died in the cause of peacekeeping with the United Nations – including members of the Irish Defence Forces. We pray for all who work for Peace – political leaders, diplomats, and for Peacekeepers drawn from our Defence Forces and from an Garda Siochána.
