GOSPEL REFLECTION
John the Baptist came to bear witness to Jesus. Who have been the people who have borne witness to you of the good news of the gospel that God loves you – a friend, a parent, a teacher, etc? To whom have you borne that witness?
John was ‘the voice of one crying out in the wilderness.’ Have you been able to give hope to other people when they were in the wilderness?

ENVELOPE COLLECTION
Thanks to all who financially supports the parish each year. The Envelope Collection, which can be contributed to throughout the year is a very important source of finance in the parish. The envelopes are always available in the church.

Our children who will receive First Holy Communion in 2012, their parents and families are invited to a special Mass on Sun next 11am to start their programme of preparation.
EMLY TENNIS CLUB
The annual ice skating trip is arranged for Fri 23rd Dec leaving at 3pm. Charge €15. All interested contact Carol O’ Brien or Mary McGrath.
LADIES FOOTBALL
The club AGM was held recently. The following officers were elected: Chairperson: Denis Connolly; Vice-Chair: Siobhan Condon, Secretary: Carol O’Brien, Ass Sec: Maria Byrne, Treas: Mary Condon, PRO: Brid Condon.
The club thanks Angela Ryan, who was the chairperson for three years, for her dedication and commitment to the club. The club is organising a party night on Friday 16th December in Ballykisteen for adult members of the club. Those interested should give a deposit of €20 to Maria Byrnes as soon as possible.

Our Annual Sale of Work and Cake Sale will take place this Sunday 11th Dec at 2.00pm in the Hall. Great Raffle during the Sale along with a visit from Santa Claus. All welcome.
EMLY GAA
Intermediate Football West Final: Emly suffered a heavy 4:14 to 7 points defeat to Rockwell Rovers in the West Final of this years intermediate football championship.
Emly have a final chance to win some silverware this year when they again play newly crowned county champions Rockwell Rovers in the West Final of the Junior A Hurling Championship. This game is due to be played next weekend.
Emly must also play Cappawhite in the Under 21 C Football West Final. Cf. www.emlygaa.com
