3-Day  Festival of  Families

Tuesday, 12th Sept: St. Ailbe’s Day. Archbishop Kieran O’Reilly will celebrate Mass at 7.30pm for the parish and for the neighbouring parishes   of the olden diocese of Emly. Please make extra effort to attend.

 

Wednesday 13th:  Holy Family Mass, 7.30pm, asking for the blessing of Jesus, Mary & Joseph on our own families.

 

Thursday 14th  : Deceased Family Members.

In appreciation of the love, blessings & Faith they gave us.  Mass : 7.30pm.

 

Icon  of  the  Holy  Family

This magnificent Icon will arrive to the Parish Church on Tuesday at 11.00am and remain with us until late on Thursday night.

Church open :  9.00am – 10.00pm daily

 

You are welcome to visit alone, with family or with friends. Spend some Quiet time “taking in”

all that the Icon shows.  Petition Box near Icon.

 

School groups will visit 10.00 – 2.30 daily.

 

Hear  the  Church  Bell

This weekend, the Bell of St. Ailbe’s Church returns to life after a silence of several years.

It will ring before all Masses, at Angelus times,

for weddings and for funerals. Warmest thanks to the generous parishioner who sponsored the restoration of the church bell. `Big Ben` is now

silent in London but St. Ailbe’s Bell peals again

Emly  Tennis  Club

There is a Coffee Morning and Raffle this Sunday 10th Sept.,  in An Cupán Tae  after 11.00am Mass.

 

Comhaltas  Emly

Comhaltas Emly would like to thank everyone who donated to our church gate collection last weekend. New term is beginning soon and new members are most welcome. This term we are delighted to announce Harp lessons in addition to Flute, Tim Whistle, Button Accordian, Piano Accordian for all ages, Concertina, Fiddle, Mandolin, Banjo, Guitar and Bodhrán. Set dancing and Irish language classes will be for adults only. Registration night will be on  Wednesday 13th  September,  7.30pm – 9.00pm. Hope to see you all there!

 

Emly Ladies Club

A meeting of  Emly Ladies Club will take place in Byrne’s Tavern on Wednesday 13th Sept (after Mass).  Note: Our annual Mass for deceased members of I.C.A and ELC has been postponed until Fri. 4th October at 7.30 pm.

 

Cake Sale for Homeless

Homelessness is with us all year around  and, with this in mind, there will be a cake sale in Byrne’s Tavern on Sunday  5th  November.  More info later.

 

Anam  Cara

Anam Cara (“soul friend”) is an organization that supports bereaved parents, whether their loss is recent or in the past. An Information Evening on Monday 18th Sept. at 7.30pm in Horse & Jockey Hotel, Thurles – open to all bereaved parents. Contact: info@anamcara.ie or 085 2888888.
