Parish  Details:

Across  the  Brain

The left side of the brain sorts out details, makes plans, puts labels on things and on people. It likes neat categories and boxes.

It’s happy when in control of life. It asks, “How?”, “Who?”, “Why?”

The right side of the brain is free-flowing, creative; it dreams and imagines; it thinks big, dares and takes risks.  It asks, “Why not?”

Today, using his left-side brain, the Gospel lawyer  asks Jesus, “Who?” (Put a label on `neighbour`). A despised outsider responding out of his right-side brain is the given model.

To the question “Who?” Jesus answers “Do”.

St. Ailbe’s  Walk  of  Mercy

Preparations are continuing for the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Emly on Sunday 11th September.

This event, led by Archbishop Kieran O’Brien, will combine a Holy Year of Mercy pilgrimage for the parishes of the former diocese of Emly with a celebration of the Feast of St Ailbe that is by tradition on the 12th Sept. (In times past, that date was the parish “Pattern – patron – Day”).

Please make a note of the Pilgrimage in your diary or kitchen calender: Sept 11th, 3 – 5pm.
