DEATH
The death took place on Monday last of Noelle Kirschner, Hospital who was the music teacher in Emly National School. There was great shock in the community when the news of Noelle’s death became known. She was a popular and inspiring music teacher who in a small number of years teaching in Emly school has left a marvellous inheritance and love of music in the children. A group of senior children from the school played at Noelle’s Requiem Mass in Hospital church.
PRESENTATION
A presentation on behalf of the members of the Board of Management of Emly N.S was made to Michael O’Dwyer, a native of Emly and author of
‘Emly National School Centenary 1910-2010.’
Fr. Seamus Rochford, chairman of the Board of Management, paid tribute to Michael not only on his recording of the history of Emly school but also for his research and writings on the history of Emly.
