HURLING  MATCH:  Through the good offices of Emly GAA Club permission has been received from the Tipperary County Board to stage the Senior Hurling challenge game between Tipperary and University College Cork in Emly on Sun 6th of January next. The proceeds of the game will go towards the Emly national school building fund.

The UCC team will feature many senior county hurlers from different counties. This match will be of interest to followers of the game in the county as it will be the first game under the management of new manager Eamonn O’Shea.

Work on the school is progressing favourably but it will be necessary to fundraise €20,000 towards the cost of the completed school.
