REGIONAL  AWARDS

The tidy towns regional awards took place on Tuesday last in the Golden Thatch, Emly.  Regional winners from Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford Wexford and Tipperary gathered to receive their awards from the Minister of the Environment, Phil Hogan. Emly were among the main prizewinners receiving the awards that had been announced at the national award ceremony in Dublin in September which included the best village in Ireland and Regional overall winners.

 

COUNTY  SEMI-FINAL WIN

Emly Junior hurlers today beat Knockshegowna from North Tipperary in the county semi-final played in very wet conditions in Templemore. The final score was1-18 to 0-13.

The team was: Ger Dawson, Chris Hennessy, Karl Bourke, Mike Ryan, Adrian Hennessy, Donal Condon, Michael ring, David Byrne, Jason McCarthy, eoin buckley, Pat Buckley, Joey Lonergan, Sean Hennessy, Ciaran McAuley, Adrian Dawson.
