Covenant 2020

O God, good and gracious Father of life, we turn to you in our apprehension and distress. From of old, you have pledged that neither flood nor plague shall wipe us from the face of the Earth.
You gave your Beloved Son to humankind that we might be freed from all evil and shielded from harm to body and soul. Powered by the Spirit he stilled the wind, calmed the waves and dispelled deep fears.
Lord Jesus, Son and Brother, walk with us now: you who saw anguish in the eyes of your Mother, you who welcomed the shoulder of Simon of Cyrene, you who gifted your wounded image to Veronica.
Let our eyes see tenderness and hope, let our people shoulder burdens in unity, let our wise ones deliver us from wild Virus.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Saint Patrick, pray for us. Saint Brigid, pray for us. Saint Ailbe, pray for us.
