NEWS – 24th May 2015.

SACRAMENTAL  CELEBRATIONS Seventeen boys and girls, pupils from Emly N.S received the sacrament of Confirmation on Tbursday last in Emly  parish church. The new Archbishop of Cashel and Emly, Most Rev Kieran O’Reilly made his first official visit to Emly for the event. To mark the occasion a presentation was made to the Archbishop by Philip Purcell, chairperson of Emly Pastoral Council. This Sunday ten boys and girls received their First Holy Communion in the parish.

EMLY  VARIETY  PLAYERS The Emly Variety Players this week produced ‘Cupid Wore Skirts’ – a three Act play by Sam Cree. The play staged in Emly Parish Hall was produced by  Sean McManus. The members of the cast were:- Jonas Callanan, Patsy Hennessy, David Hennessy, Brid Condon, Norita Kemp, Kerry McAuley, Nora Hartigan, Marita Mulhall and Cathal Hayes.

CHRISTMAS We were delighted to welcome home our visitors for Christmas.We hope they enjoyed their stay   WEDDING The wedding took place recently in Emly of Aoife Walsh, Farran, Emly and Mark Coote, Ennis Co. Clare. Aoife is the daughter of Seamus and Julie Walsh, Farran. Mark and Aoife returned from Perth, Australia for their wedding.
